Sire became famous for releasing basses supervised by Marcus Miller.
The quality of their guitars and basses is extremely high, and they are highly regarded not only by Marcus Miller fans but also by a wider audience.
This particular model is based on a 70's Jazz Bass.
Based on the serial number and specifications, it is judged to be a 1st Generation instrument.
The body is made of ash, and the neck and fretboard are made of maple.
This is a 70's specification combination.
The pickups and preamp are original.
The controls are somewhat numerous, including volume, tone, balancer, bass, middle, middle frequency, treble, and an active/passive switch, but they are well-organized for bassists.
The joint plate has been replaced with a Freedom Custom Guitar Research Tone Shift Plate.
