Description & Condition
In particular, their fretless models are highly acclaimed.
Many professionals are loyal users of the brand, and such greats as Mark Egan and Will Lee used the brand.
The brand sadly ended in 2019.
In Pedulla, the MVP and its fretless version, the Penta Buzz, are well known, but the Rapture is also highly regarded as a great instrument.
In fact, there are many inexpensive Rapture models, but this one is a rare Rapture with a high level of seriousness.
Moreover, this is a fretless version, which is the most highly regarded among Pedulla models. It's a very nice guitar.
The body appears to be alder back and flame maple top.
This is a bit unusual, as the entire body is often made of maple.
Fingerboard is rose type and coated.
It has a little JB-like nuance, including the fact that the PU is JB style.
Turning to the fingerboard coating, there are some string marks, but it is in very clean condition.
Pedulla's fretless coating is very thin, and many of them have cracks, although it is not certain if that is the cause. (We do a lot of repairs on those.)
I think the great thing about this piece is that it is quite clean here.
The PU is a Bartolini 59 series (there are several 59s, but I couldn't identify them). The preamp is a Bartolini NTMB918PG.
The controls are the usual ones (volume, balancer, treble, bass, etc.), but what I want to mention is the middle switch.
The middle toggle switch is probably the one that allows you to switch between the two preset middle EQs at will.
The amount of boost or cut is set by a semi-fixed resistor in the panel on the back of the body.
This function is quite practical and can be used in a variety of ways, such as cutting only when slapping or boosting only when soloing, in addition to normal use.
The preamp gain setting can be changed freely as well.
The sound is more JB-like than Pedulla-like.
It is a tasteful piece of music that brings out the easy-to-understand deliciousness that is typical of Bartolini.
I honestly wondered if I would take it home with me. I recommend it.
The truss rod action feels a little stiff, but the left-right movement has been confirmed.
The neck is a little high, but the string height at the 12th fret is 2.5mm on the 1st string side and 3.3mm on the 5th string side, and it is playable without any chattering.
The condition of the body and paint surface has a few hardly noticeable scratches and a few dents of a few mm.
It can be said to be relatively clean and beautiful.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
