Yamaha is known as a favorite of top musicians such as John Patitucci and Nathan East.
This model is the famous BB2000.
The through-neck construction and PJ pickups give a sense of the times, but it is the YAMAHA BB series that created that era.
The sound is beautiful and appealing, with a thick but speedy sound.
It is a different sound from Fender, but it contains many of the elements that ensembles look for in Fenders (wide bass, assertive middle, and treble with visible attack).
The front PU has probably been replaced.
The previous owner obtained a PU for a BB2000 to make it original specs, but it has not been replaced.
That PU is included, but it is hard to say if it is original or not. (Please understand).
The frets are roughly 70% remaining.
The truss rod nut is a little licked, but you can turn it if you are careful. The operation has been checked.
The neck is in good condition.
The condition of the body and painted surface is dotted with scratches and dings. There are also a few dulled parts.
