Vanzandt manufactures high-quality guitars and basses, and is particularly renowned for the quality of their vintage-style construction.
This is a 5-string JB model.
The body is alder and the fingerboard is Indian rosewood, a classic wood construction.
The pickups are, of course, Vanzandt.
The potentiometers are CTS, the jack is Switchcraft, and the capacitors are Vanzandt (0.047mF), so again, everything is in order.
With standard specs, the playing feel is unmistakable.
The sound is characteristic of a jazz bass, with powerful lows and attacking highs.
At the same time, it has a refined impression and an appeal that goes beyond mere imitation.
There are surprisingly few 5-string JBs with this nuance.
While this style is challenging, I feel that the Vanzandt-branded JB easily surpasses that hurdle.

The body and finish have 2mm dents on the body end and back horn. There are also some minor scratches, but the instrument shows relatively little wear.
