Description & Condition
Tobias is the current MTD.
Founder Michael Tobias began his career in 1974 and is one of the most important figures in modern bass building.
Today MTD is known as a favorite of the world's top bass players such as Andrew Gauthe, Robert "Bubby" Lewis, and Jerry Watts.
This is a Classic 5 from the Tobias era.
Unlike MTD's work, the through-neck design is one of its distinguishing features.
It is smoother than the MTD, partly due to its 34" scale.
However, it is more massive than the Ken Smith and has more character.
There are surprisingly few basses with this feel that can be slapped and played with gusto.
The remaining frets are about 70%.
The truss rod is a little loose, but we have confirmed that it works at least 90 degrees.
This is the time of year when the humidity is low and the neck is in good condition, so the truss rod feels like it will have more room in the summer.
Personally, I don't feel bad at all, in fact, I have the impression that it is in good shape.
There are a few 1~4mm dings on the head and grips.
The condition of the body and painted surface is generally scratchy.
There are 1~4mm dents scattered around.
The paint film is cloudy around the elbow cut.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No clear modification points were found.
