Founder John Suhr began his career at the renowned Rudy's in New York City. He went on to build Pensa Suhrs, design amplifiers at CAE, and serve as a master builder at Fender, earning him high praise.
He later founded Suhr Guitars, where he continued his reputation for exceptional instrument craftsmanship.
While Suhr is particularly well-known for its guitars in Japan, its experience at Pensa Suhr and Fender demonstrates that Suhr's basses are also top-notch.
The model featured today is the Classic J, a bass inspired by the Jazz Bass.
The body features an ash back and quilted maple top, offering exceptionally luxurious features.
The neck is made of quarter-sawn maple, and the fingerboard is birdseye maple, both carefully selected from the highest quality woods.
The pickups and preamplifier are original, and Suhr is particularly highly regarded for its electronic design.
