Description & Condition
The company manufactures high-quality guitars and basses in Nagano Prefecture and is highly regarded by many musicians.
The NB is known as the flagship model and is used by Egawa Hojin-san, Mike Porcaro of TOTO and others.
This is the NB6, a rare 6-string model of the NB.
The body top is made of gorgeous myrtle and the back is made of alder.
The beautiful looks go without saying, but there is no doubt about the high quality of the tonewoods, they are perfect.
The bridge and pegs are GOTOH, which is not normal.
They are original and custom-made by Sugi and optimised for this bass.
Despite the 24 frets, the sound is not too tight and open.
This feature seems to have a positive influence on both fingerplay and slap.
Although it has a wide range and modern playability, it is still based on traditional elements.
So it is a very reassuring ally for bassists who are faithful to the role required of the bass in an ensemble.
The NB has a very high distribution of 5-strings, and there is often a sense of perfection about them.
Such an impression does not change even with the six-string, which is not out of order.
Overall, it's a beautiful, not too neatly put together, florid bass.
Very little fret wear.
The truss rod operation and neck are in good condition.
The condition of the body and paintwork is beautiful, with no noticeable scratches.
No obvious modifications were found.
