Description & Condition
Sterling is a brand that manufactures budget-friendly Music Man models.
Even though it's a budget-friendly version, it still offers high basic performance and fully inherits the Music Man's DNA.
This model is the entry-level version of the Stingray, Music Man's signature bass.
The neck is made of roasted maple.
The fingerboard is rosewood.
This wood is also known as thermowood.
Put into practical use in the musical instrument industry by the Japanese company Sago, it was originally used in Finland as a building material for saunas.
Thermowood is prized for its resistance to high temperatures and humidity, and its usefulness for musical instruments is evident from its use by top manufacturers such as Sadowsky and Suhr.
A certain amount of thermowood is apparently discarded during the processing process.
Presumably, even those that will warp in the future will be played here.
The sound is richly refined and exudes nuance.
Equipped with two large humbucking pickups and a powerful 3-band preamp.
While faithfully maintaining its distinctive specifications, the addition of a neck pickup allows for a wider range of sound output.
If you're looking for the unique sound that can only be produced with this style, this model is the best choice.
Approximately 60% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is stiff, but has been confirmed to move about 90 degrees.
The neck shows signs of high tilt. Adjusting it 2.2mm-3.0mm at the 12th fret, 0.2mm higher than the GIB standard, allows for smooth playability.
There are minor scratches on the body and finish. There is a paint crack near the 2nd string bushing.
The electrical system is in good condition.
The 2nd string tuning peg has been replaced with a HIPSHOT one.
Controls: Master volume, treble, middle, bass, 5-way pickup selector
