Steinberger is a brand that sparked a revolution with its groundbreaking designs.
They developed products that were different in many ways, using materials other than wood and adopting a square body design.

This is a rare model, the XM-2, with few in circulation.

While it doesn't have a familiar body design, it still retains the Steinberger signature, cleverly incorporating a headless design.

The year of manufacture could not be determined, but the serial number suggests it is an early Newburgh period instrument.

The body is hard maple.
The body is well-balanced, and its high playability when playing seated is particularly noteworthy.

The neck is the brand's signature Graphite Composite.
This model does not have a truss rod.

The fingerboard is phenolic.
It is a synthetic material made from phenolic resin with a texture similar to ebony.

The pickups are EMG-HB.
Controls consist of a simple master volume, balancer, and master tone.

The clear sound image, which doesn't blur even with the abundant low frequencies, and the beautiful mid-range are the unique charms of Steinbergers from this period.

Approximately 80% of the frets remain.
The neck is in a slightly bowed state, so the action height has been adjusted 0.5mm higher than the GIB standard (2.5-3.0mm at the 12th fret). Depending on how you play, there is a slight choking sound from the 17th fret onwards.
The body and finish show minor scratches and dents.
The electrical system is in good condition.
All knobs have been replaced with GIB BASIC Modern S knobs.
