Spector is a guitar and bass brand founded in New York in 1974 by Stuart Spector.
Shortly after its launch, Vinny Fodera—who would later establish Fodera Guitars—also worked in Spector's workshop.
The brand's NS model achieved explosive global popularity, developed in collaboration with Ned Steinberger.
This instrument is the NS-JH6, a highly rare bolt-on model within the top-tier USA-made line.
The body back is likely Mahogany, while the top features beautifully figured Spalted Maple.
The neck is a 3-piece Maple, and the fingerboard is likely Rosewood.
While standard models typically feature a single-coil + humbucker pickup configuration, this instrument is likely a custom build, equipped with two EMG 40DC pickups.
The preamp has been replaced with a Bartolini NTBT, producing a warmer and more powerful tone.
Scale length is 35 inches.
It masterfully balances a punchy, resonant low end with clear, vibrant highs, delivering a flawless sound for backing, chord work, and soloing alike.
An extremely rare piece, produced in very limited numbers.
Highly recommended not only for Spector fans, but also for players who love modern-style basses like Fodera, MTD, and Ken Smith.
Approximately 80% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is stiff but confirmed to move about 90 degrees.
The neck condition is good.
The body and finish show scattered impact marks on the headstock and scattered scratches on the body.
Metal parts also show some paint loss.
Holes resembling strap pin replacements are visible on the cutaway and lower body.
Electronics are in good condition.
The preamp has been replaced with a Bartolini NTBT.
