Spector is a guitar and bass brand founded in New York in 1974 by Stuart Spector.

Shortly after its launch, Vinny Fodera—who would later establish Fodera Guitars—also worked in the Spector workshop.

The brand's NS model achieved explosive global popularity, developed in collaboration with Ned Steinberger.

While the brand includes models made in Asia and the USA, this one is Czech-made.

SSD stands for Stuart Spector Design.

This designation existed between 1991 and 1998 when the Kramer company went bankrupt and the logo could no longer be used.

This is the standard NS-4 model.

It features a maple through-neck construction for the body and neck, with the fingerboard likely made of Pau Ferro.

It's equipped with EMG PJ-type pickups.

The preamp has been replaced with an EMG BQC-HZ System.

Its clear, massive sound emphasizes pitch accuracy and delivers a high-speed tone that is both practical and musical.

It's a piece packed with charm you won't find in modern basses.

Approximately 80% of the frets remain.

The truss rod is stiff but confirmed to move about 90 degrees.

The neck has a slight bow (high rise), but it plays fine at 2.5-3.0mm.

The body and finish show some dullness on metal parts, overall dirt, and minor dents/scratches.

Electronics are in good condition.

The controls and preamp have been fully replaced with an EMG BQC-HZ System.
