Description & Condition

Spector is a guitar and bass brand started in New York by Stuart Spector in 1974.
Shortly after the brand's founding, Vinny Fodera, who would later found Fodera Guitars, also worked in Spector's workshop.

The brand's NS model gained explosive popularity worldwide, which was developed in collaboration with Ned Steinberger.

The NS-2J is a model produced over a short period, from 1983 to 1985.

While the NS-2 has a PJ layout and a neck-through design, the NS-2J features a bolt-on joint and a JJ layout.

In Japan, it is famous for being used by Tsugutoshi Goto.

This model is a 1983 NS-2J.

The pot date indicates 1983, and the preamp model and hardware specifications indicate it is from 1983.

The body is likely soft maple, the neck is maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood.
The fingerboard is glossy and the wood grain is beautiful, indicating very high quality.

There is no serial number on the back of the headstock, and the back panel and the insides of the screw holes are black, suggesting that the body, neck, and back of the headstock have likely been refinished from black to natural.

The pickups are EMG SJ.
They're what's known as caramel back, so they're quite old.

The preamp is made by HAZ.

The bridge has an early Badass vibe to it.

The clear, massive, high-speed sound with a strong sense of intonation is practical yet musical.

This bass is packed with charm not found in modern basses.

Approximately 80% of the frets remain.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck is in good condition.

The body and paint show minor dents and scratches.

The electrical system is in good condition.

No obvious modifications were found.
