Description & Condition
Sago is a handmade guitar brand in Hyogo, Japan, that specializes in full-order production, fulfilling all requests from customers.
The regular models (though most of them are one-offs) that they make by utilizing the knowledge and skills they have cultivated over a long period of time are also highly appreciated.
The brand is trusted by musicians, and Sago artists include Haruichi Shindo of Porno Graffitti/The Opposition, Shinji Wajima of Ningen Chair, and Sojiro Oki of Novelbright.
This model is a Custom Order Classic Style MG.
As you can see, it is based on the Fender Mustang.
The small body shape is easy to handle, and the short scale makes it light and comfortable to play.
The body is made of thermo alder, the neck is thermo maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood.
The thermo wood used for the body and neck was originally used in Finland as a building material for saunas, and was commercialized in the field of musical instruments by Sago of Japan.
It is a wood that can withstand high temperatures and humidity, and its usefulness for musical instruments is evident in the fact that it is used by leading manufacturers such as Sadowsky and Suhr.
It is said that a certain amount of thermowood is disposed of due to its processing.
Probably, some of the instruments that will be warped in the future will be played here.
The sound has a strong impression of a mellow nuance.
The bright blue color, competition line, and matching headstock give it a very unique look.
Pickups are Lx Belfrix-Type2 on the neck and middle, and Lx Tashlly-Type1 on the bridge.
The SSH layout, 5-way selector and coil tap switch provide a rich sound variation.
The bridge is not a dynamic vibrato, but a Gotoh hardtail bridge.
This reduces pitch deviation even when hard picking.
The tuning machines are Gotoh locking type.
This improves tuning stability.
A gem with traditional looks and modern playability.
How about taking advantage of this opportunity?
There are approximately 90% frets remaining.
The truss rod is in good working order and the neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork are in relatively beautiful condition with no noticeable scratches or stains.
