Description & Condition
Sadowsky is a New York high brand whose customers include top musicians such as Marcus Miller and Will Lee.
Metroline used to be manufactured in Japan, but now it is manufactured at the Warwick factory in Germany.
When Roger Sadowsky visited GIB Yokohama, we talked a lot about manufacturing at Warwick.
When he was looking for a factory, he wanted to manufacture a large number of guitars and basses without sacrificing quality.
He had a hard time finding a factory that matched his needs.
He also told us that he is very satisfied with Warwick's manufacturing.
Some were concerned about the quality of the Metroline model, since it was originally highly acclaimed as a Japanese-made model, but from looking at the actual instrument, it seems that there is no need to be overly concerned.
And the Japanese-made Metroline incorporated many unique designs.
However, Warwick-made Metroline is quite similar to NYC in specifications, and was built based on Roger's input.
For example, the body is chambered like in NYC, and the bridge is made entirely of brass.
Such differences between the old and new Metroline exist, and the new one seems to be accepted relatively positively.
Furthermore, all Warwick-made Sadowskys imported to Japan go through Yamano Gakki's strict inspection.
Since Yamano Gakki, which has been involved in importing and selling Fender and Gibson and has developed them into strong brands, is also in charge of quality control, it can be said that the Metroline distributed in Japan is of truly excellent quality.
This model is a modern model with 24 frets and a wide range of sound.
The model with a soap bar is also popular, but this model, which retains more of a JB feel, is also popular.
The body is chambered and very lightweight.
When we asked Roger about the advantages of the chambered finish, he told us that the light weight is something that musicians like, and that the easy touch is also a positive thing.
The hum-cancel type PU, highly appreciated by many musicians, and the powerful preamp output a powerful sound even at low string heights.
Overall, it is a product with high potential.
As an aside, we asked Roger why the 24-fret MS model has a soapbar type PU.
The reason for using a soap bar on the 24-fret model is that the distance between the neck PU and the fretboard makes the sound tighter, so we use a warmer PU to balance the sound. This is why the 24-fret model uses a soap bar.
However, the same 24-fret model has the same PU position on the VJ as on the JB, and therefore the PU type itself is the same as on the JB.
Both VJ and MS are great designs, so please compare them and choose the one that best suits you.
The frets are roughly 90% remaining.
The truss rod is in good working order.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork are in good condition with scattered scratches.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
