Musicman started as Leo Fender's second brand and captivated many musicians with its innovative designs.
Louis Johnson, Flea, and many other artists loved Musicman basses.
Musicman was later acquired by Ernieball and is now known as Ernieball Musicman.
The flagship model of the company is the Stingray, followed by the equally acclaimed Sabre.
This is a so-called “Pre Ernie” made in 1980, before Musicman was acquired by Ernieball.
It was made in 1980.
It is in very clean condition.
Body is probably Ash, neck is Maple and fingerboard is Rosewood.

There is a stamp “MAY 01 1980” on the neck end and “●●● 25 19●●” on the neck pocket. (partially illegible).

The condition of the paint near the nut suggests that the nut may have been replaced.
The pickguard is partially cracked, and this has been repaired.
There is roughly 70% frets remaining.
The truss rod is in good working order.
The neck is in good condition. There is a slight crack in the wood near the truss rod. It is currently adjustable without any problems, but care should be taken.
The condition of the body and painted surface has some faded areas. There are some dents and scratches.
The electrical system is in good condition.
The paint on the nut side is peeling, so the nut has probably been replaced. That would suggest the possibility of refretting.
