Michael Tobias Design (MTD) was founded in 1974 by Michael Tobias, who has made musical instruments as his profession.

It is highly regarded by top bassists worldwide, including Andrew Gouche, Robert ""Bubby"" Lewis, and Jerry Watts. (Titles omitted)

Despite producing only about 10 instruments per month, its quality is widely known.

The flagship model, the 635-21, is a 6-string model with a 35-inch scale and a 21-fret fingerboard.

This particular instrument is serial number 46, an early model with the Eclipse logo.

It appears to be a 1990s production.

The body top is made of Burl, giving it an attractive, exotic look.

The body back is Ash, and the neck and fingerboard are Wenge.

This is a standard configuration for the brand.

Due to a truss rod malfunction, we replaced the rod and consequently replaced the fingerboard at our shop.

The guitar has been restored to a similar appearance to its original state.

Although significant repairs were performed, this is precisely why its condition is so good.

There are absolutely no concerns regarding playability.

The pickups and preamp are the familiar Bartolini.

The deep, dope low end and soaring high frequencies emanating from the powerful electronics are captivating.

The EQ is clear and fast in a flat setting.

Compared to current models, it has a more massive texture with tighter lows and low-mids, reminiscent of the sound heard in much of the black music of the 2000s.

Because it has a refined balance in its basic state, the sound doesn't break down even when the EQ is actively adjusted, and it maintains a powerful, bass-like sound even when the pickup balance is shifted.

The frets have almost no remaining life.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork show some minor scratches and small dents.

The electronics are in good condition.
The truss rod has been replaced and the fretboard has been replaced. Refretting and a corresponding nut replacement have also been performed.

●Defect Warranty

Basic Co., Ltd. provides a warranty against defects for products sold by the company. With the exception of some items such as consigned goods, we will repair (or refund if repair is not possible) any malfunctions that occur during normal use within a certain warranty period from the date of purchase free of charge.

The warranty period is 3 months for used products and 1 year for new products.
