Michael Tobias Design (MTD) was founded in 1974 by Michael Tobias, who has made a living making musical instruments.

It is highly regarded by top bassists worldwide, including Andrew Gouche, Robert ""Bubby"" Lewis, and Jerry Watts. (Titles omitted)

Despite producing only about 10 instruments per month, its quality is widely known.

This is the flagship model, the 635-21.

This model number indicates a 6-string model with a 35-inch scale length and a 21-fret fingerboard.

This is a fretless bass that has been modified to be fretted.

The body is primarily made of ash, the neck is maple, and the fingerboard is wenge.

The body top uses beautiful exotic wood, giving it an attractive look characteristic of MTD.

Due to a problem with the truss rod, we replaced the rod and consequently replaced the fingerboard at our shop.

Furthermore, we refinished the guitar in our shop to fill in paint scratches and screw holes.

The fretboard and paintwork were restored to a similar appearance to the original condition.

Although significant repairs were performed, this is precisely why the guitar is in such excellent condition.

There are absolutely no concerns regarding playability.

The pickups and preamp are the familiar Bartolini custom pickups.

The EQ, in its flat state, is massive, clear, and fast.

Even when boosted, it doesn't break down; it becomes more solid and impactful, or sharper and more intricate—highly versatile.

Because it possesses a refined balance in its basic state, the sound doesn't break down even when the EQ is actively manipulated, and even when the pickup balance is shifted, it produces a powerful, bass-like sound.

The frets have approximately 95% remaining.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck is in good condition.

The body and paintwork are clean, with only minor scratches near the neck joint. The metal parts and pickups show signs of wear.

The logo on the headstock is faded. The knobs are somewhat loose when pulled, although there is some resistance. There are no issues with normal playability.

The electronics are in good condition.

Instruments purchased from our store are eligible for lifetime free ""String Vibration Setup"" (normally ¥4,400). (Reservation required)

●Re-Buyback Price Guarantee

●Defect Warranty

Basic Co., Ltd. provides a warranty against defects for products sold by the company. With the exception of some consignment items and other products, we will repair any malfunctions that occur under normal use free of charge during the warranty period (returns and refunds will only be accepted if repairs are not possible).

The warranty period is three months for used products and one year for new products.

Please note that even within the warranty period, there will be a fee for repairs in the following cases:

- Replacement of consumables.
- Malfunctions or damage caused by fire, earthquake, salt damage, gas damage, or abnormal voltage.
