Michael Tobias Design (MTD) was founded by Michael Tobias, who has been building instruments for a living since 1974.

MTD is highly regarded by the world's top bassists, including Andrew Gauthe, Robert "Bubby" Lewis, and Jerry Watts.
Although the production volume is very small, only about 10 pieces per month, the company is widely known for its capabilities.

This model is the flagship 535-21.
This model number indicates that it is a 5-string model, with a scale of 34 inches and a 21-fret fingerboard.

The EQ is massive, clear, and speedy when flat.
It doesn't break down when boosted, and can become louder and lumpier, sharper and sharper, and more variable.
The PU and preamp are made by Bartolini, but the special combination is achieved because of a special order.

The frets are roughly 75% remaining.
The truss rod is working and the neck is in good condition.
There are no noticeable scratches on the body or paint, but there is a light 1cm scratch on the left side of the body towards the front PU, and some minor scratches can be seen on both sides of the body when exposed to light.

American Stringjoy strings are used.
The sound is well-balanced, not too much or too little, and smooth and comfortable to play.
