Description & Condition

Kramer is a guitar brand that reached its peak in the 1980s.
It's loved by musicians in genres like hard rock and metal.

This is a 4001B with the aluminum neck design that was symbolic of the brand in the 1970s.

The pot dates and preamp dates suggest a 1979 production date, so we've estimated it to be 1979.

The body wings are walnut, and the body center block is likely a walnut and maple laminate.

The neck is an aluminum laminate, and the fingerboard is ebony.

The unique look, blending wood and metal, is very appealing.

The pickups are made by DiMarzio, and the preamp is original.

Controls include a pickup wiring switch (series/parallel), a 3-way tone filter switch, volume, and tone.

The 3-way tone filter switch boosts the low, mid, and high frequencies, respectively.

It's appealing with its tight, powerful lows, protruding midrange, and piercing highs.
It's loud and powerful, with the charm of an old bass.

Approximately 70% of the frets remain.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck exhibits some forward bending toward the 4th string. This angle occurs due to the load on the 1st string bridge. Due to its construction, the 1st string cannot be adjusted below 2.5mm. Currently, the string height can be adjusted 0.5mm higher than the GIB standard (2.5mm-3.0mm), allowing for smooth playability.

The body and finish show occasional dents and scratches, and show signs of wear consistent with its age. The center is off. The screws on the panel sealing the joint are stripped.

As for the electrical system, there is some scratching at the volume control's 9-10 setting. Boosting the tone control increases the bass. The treble boost of the 3-way tone filter switch causes noticeable noise from the instrument.
No obvious modifications were found.

Controls: PU wiring selector switch (series/parallel), 3-way tone filter switch, volume, tone
Nut width: 39.7mm
Bridge string spacing: 19.0mm
Scale: 34 inches
Year of manufacture: 1979
Country of manufacture: USA

This guitar uses SIT strings, favored by many professional artists.
It features stable tuning and a powerful, three-dimensional sound. Please enjoy it.

This guitar will be tuned by GIB craftsmen for optimal playability before delivery.
