Ken Smith is a New York-based brand that manufactures top-of-the-line electric basses.
Their products are truly exceptional, captivating many bassists.
This model features a body shape called BSR.
The BSR is a model suited to bassists who perform live, and is known to be used by Marcus Miller and Melvin Lee Davis, among others. (Titles omitted)
While Ken Smith is often associated with through-neck construction, this model has a bolt-on neck.
If a through-neck produces a fat and smooth sound, this one offers a sound with more attack and punch.
The body wing top is made of Macassar Ebony, the body wing back is Walnut, and the core is Mahogany.
The Macassar Ebony on the body wings is beautiful and makes a striking impression on this instrument.
The neck is a 5-piece laminate type made of Maple and Walnut.
This technique of laminating multiple pieces of wood to create the neck reduces left-right and individual differences, resulting in greater stability. The fretboard is made of Macassar Ebony.
The pickups are original, and the preamp is an original HAZ unit.
Because it's a bolt-on neck, it has a clearer, more articulate sound compared to neck-through basses.
The low B string has the same nuance as the E string, and the connected quality of all the strings is unique to Ken Smith.
This is a top-of-the-line electric bass that I confidently recommend.
The frets have approximately 70% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.

There are some scratches and dents on the body and paintwork.
