Description & Condition

Ken Smith, based in Pennsylvania, New York, is known for crafting the finest electric basses.

The company is also known for developing the world's first six-string bass and designing tapered-core strings, making it a pioneer in modern bass design.

This model features a body shape known as the BSR.

The BSR is a model suited to live performing bassists, and is known for being used by bassists such as Marcus Miller and Melvin Davis. (Titles omitted)

This is the BSR5GN.
It was manufactured in 2006.

The top and back of the body wings are made of figured walnut, and the core is made of Tiger Maple.

The neck features a through-neck joint and a 5-ply laminated maple and walnut neck.
The technique of gluing together multiple pieces of wood to create the neck minimizes left-right and individual differences and provides greater stability.

The fingerboard is made of ebony.

The wood construction is the same as the top-of-the-line Black Tiger.
This model, as expected from Ken Smith, is constructed with extremely high-quality wood.

The pickups are original dual-coil.
Series and parallel modes can be switched separately.

The preamp is an original type made by HAZ.

The nuance of the low B string is the same as that of the E string, and the texture that connects all the strings is unique to Ken Smith.
Although this is a relatively new piece, the quality is truly outstanding, just as it was back then.

The overall condition is very good, with perfect fret space and good relief.
It couldn't get any better.

This is a top-of-the-line electric bass that I can confidently recommend.

Approximately 90% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
There are scratches and dents on the body and finish. There is a mark on the top of the body near the side of the pickup, where a thumb may have rested.
The electrical system is in good condition.
The neck pickup series/parallel selector switch has been replaced.

Controls: Master volume (push-pull/active/passive selector), balancer, treble, middle, bass, neck pickup series/parallel selector switch, bridge pickup series/parallel selector switch
Nut width: 44.6mm
Bridge string spacing: 18.0mm
Scale: 34 inches
Year of manufacture: 2006
Country of manufacture: USA

D'addario EXL strings, trusted by professional musicians, were used for the setup.
Characterized by a powerful attack and rich overtones, they truly deserve to be called the standard.
These high-quality strings maximize the instrument's performance and character, so please enjoy them as well.

GIB craftsmen will tune them for ease of play before shipping.
