Description & Condition
J.W. Black is a former Fender master builder who has continued to build great guitars and basses since becoming independent.
He started his career in the 70's, and after working for Sadowsky, Rudy's, and Fender, and repairing vintage guitars as an individual (he worked on guitars for Frank Zappa, Eric Clapton, and others), he launched his own eponymous brand.
This model is based on his concept, but manufactured in Japan for a lower price.
Sugi manufactures high-quality guitars in Japan.
This is a hybrid model of the ultimate Telecaster conceived by J.W. Black, Fender's top craftsman, and manufactured by Japan's top guitar brand.
The body is made of luxurious one-piece Ash.
It is finished in a see-through blonde color that reveals the grain of the Ash, giving it a beautiful look.
The neck and fingerboard are Maple.
The neck shape is slightly thicker.
The fret and fingerboard edges have been carefully processed to provide a grippy feel, yet it is comfortable to play without feeling it.
Two original single coil pickups are installed.
The sound is characterized by a shimmering, edgy sound.
The Telecaster is packed with the royal elements of the Telecaster, yet has a high playability and hot sound that is ideal for the modern musician.
There are approximately 80% frets remaining.
The truss rod operation and neck are in good condition.
