Inner Bamboo Bass Instruments (IBBI) is one of the most talented effector brands in the world.
Their SUMO STOMP series is also very popular.
Its quality is highly rated by both pros and amateurs alike.
Musicians who love IBBI include Naoki Koyama of m.s.t., Yutaro Iizuka of EOW, and Takumi Katsuya, who supports Fujii Kaze and Yama, Tomoo.
This model is the B-II, which is highly regarded as a top quality bass preamp.
Gain settings are large enough to directly drive a power amplifier, allowing direct input to a PA power amplifier or bass amplifier power amplifier.
Originally, a preamplifier was for direct input to a power amplifier, which is why old preamplifiers were so loud.
In modern times, the meaning of a preamplifier has changed in some ways, but this model can be said to be a preamplifier in the original sense.
As you can see, the only foot switches are MUTE and EQ PASS.
In other words, this pedal itself cannot be bypassed.
The controls are simple: 3-band EQ plus LEVEL, GAIN that allows you to vary the center frequency band.
BASS and TREBLE can be varied from 4 levels, and MIDDLE can be varied steplessly.
This variable width gives the impression of being narrowed down considerably, which personally gives me a good impression. (Details will be explained later)
The sound has a slightly three-dimensional feel and a pushed nuance, but is basically extremely normal.
The sound is clear, speedy, and just as it is, but the fact is that there are few equipment that can produce that sound, and I think that's why this model is so highly rated.
The voltage is boosted internally, and that's why you can feel that it operates with ample leeway.
I am especially amazed at the lack of stagnation and strength when inputting directly to a power amplifier using this unit.
You should realize that this is the true sound of this bass.
In addition to input, output, DC IN, and tuner out, it also has DC OUT.
For powering other effectors. (For convenience, I wrote DC IN and DC OUT, but these are connected in parallel, and there is no problem whether you set them to IN or OUT.The same voltage as the input voltage will come out.)
It seems that there are many people who power IBBI's masterpiece compressor U II and solidify their footing with only one adapter and two IBBI products.
