Gibson is the king of the guitar world, having created many famous instruments.
Guitars are especially popular, but basses with unique looks and rock sound are also very popular.
This model is a rather rare bass called SB-400.
It is an SG bass.
It seems to have been released only from 1971 to 1973.
The body and neck are made of maple, and the fingerboard is made of rosewood.
Unusually for Gibson, it has a single coil, but the sound is very fat.
The scale is 34.125", almost the same as a Fender.
There is roughly 60% frets remaining.
The truss rod is in good working order.
The neck has more forward warp on the 4th string side than the 1st string side at the low frets, and more forward twist on the 1st string side than the 4th string side at the high frets. 3.0mm on the 1st string side and 3.5mm on the 4th string side at the string height above the 12th fret, and can be played without sound jamming or chatter.
The condition of the body and painted surface is vintage with paint peeling, dents, and weather checks.
