Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Gibson is the king of guitars, having produced many masterpieces.
Their guitars are especially popular, but their basses with their unique looks and rock sound are also very popular.
This is one of the most popular models, the EB-3.
Based on the pickup position, slotted head, binding, and serial number, it is believed to have been manufactured between 1969 and 1971.
As described below, it has been modified and repaired in some ways.
Made of mainly mahogany wood, with a 30.5 inch scale.
Equipped with two powerful humbucker pickups.
The resulting thick, deep sound is still attractive and unique.
This is a guitar that will come in handy in rock, R&B, and even pop music when it counts.
About 70% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is stiff, but it can be operated at about 90 degrees.
The condition of the neck is high rise, and the string height is set at about 3.0-2.5mm. The high position will vibrate if you play hard.
The body and paint surface have many dents, scratches, and paint reactions appropriate for the age. The neck has been oversprayed, giving it a different gloss from the body.
The condition of the electrical system is good.
The tone control of the neck pickup was broken, so we replaced it with a CTS (A500) at our shop. The other pots are engraved with ""CBA-811-1158"", which indicates that they were replaced with parts that were distributed as replacement parts in the 1960s. In addition, there are traces of repairs to the broken neck, and the entire neck grip is oversprayed. The tip of the octave screw on the 3rd string saddle is broken, so it is not possible to adjust the octave tuning with the strings on. One of the jack plate screws is broken inside. The nut side of the rod cover is cracked. The knob pointer of the bridge PU volume is missing. The tailpiece is attached later.
Controls: Neck PU volume, neck PU tone, bridge PU volume, bridge PU tone, 4-way Varitone SW
Nut width: 40.0mm
Bridge string pitch: 18.0mm
Scale: 30.5 inches
Year of manufacture: 1969-1971
Country of manufacture: USA
D'addario EXL, which is highly trusted by professional musicians, is used for setup.
It is characterized by a strong attack and rich overtones, and is truly worthy of being called a standard.
It is a high-quality string that brings out the performance and character of the instrument to the fullest, so please enjoy it as well.
It will be delivered after being adjusted by GIB's craftsmen to make it easy to play.
