Description & Condition
Fodera is one of the most respected high-end bass brands in the world.
Founder Vinny Fodera began his career while still in his teens.
After working in prestigious workshops such as Spector and Ken Smith, he founded Fodera Guitars in 1983.
Their customers include Victor Wooten, Richard Bona, Marcus Miller, Anthony Jackson and many other top musicians from around the world.
The sigh-inducingly beautiful finish of these guitars is what explains the high price tag.
This is an Emperor 4-string with a double-cut body, which is very popular among musicians.
The year of manufacture is thought to be late 1980s to early 1990s.
The bridge is Schaller and the PU and preamp are Bartolini.
The neck joint is a through neck, which I think is more Fodera-like than bolt-on.
It is by far the easiest to play, and the responsiveness really makes you aware of the open and strong string vibrations that only a 4-string bass can have.
I have touched many 5-string Fodera basses, and that is why I feel the appeal of the 4-string so strongly.
This is one that Fodera enthusiasts will love.
That is why it is a masterpiece that many bassists should experience.
The remaining frets are approximately 70%.
The truss rod is in good working order.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork are in good condition, with a few scratches and dings.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.

The D'addario EXL, which is trusted by professional musicians, is used in the setup.
Characterised by a powerful attack and rich overtones, it is truly a performance worthy of being called a standard.
These high-quality strings maximise the performance and character of the instrument, so please enjoy them as well.
The GIB craftsmen have adjusted them to make them easy to play and deliver them to you.
