Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Fender is the number one brand of electric guitars and basses.
Used by countless top artists including James Jamerson, Bobby Vega, Michael League, and more. (Title omitted)
The Precision Bass was introduced in 1951 as the world's first solid electric bass with frets, and has been loved by bassists around the world for more than half a century.
This is a Precision Bass manufactured in 1978.
We made a comprehensive judgment based on the serial, stamp, specs, etc.
This is a slightly rare original fretless model.
The stamp on the tone pot is ""1377815"", indicating the 15th week of production in 1978 (made by CTS).
A stamp of ""202078"" can be seen on the bass string side of the pickup, and ""20●●78"" on the treble string side, both of which can be read as manufactured in 1978.
Both have gray bobbins and dark red wire, and their appearance matches the period characteristics.
The volume pot has been replaced with a CTS one, and the jack with a Pure Tone one.
The capacitor may have been replaced, but the detailed model number cannot be confirmed.
Shielding is applied inside the cavity and from the bottom of the pickguard to the neck joint with copper foil tape, but the appearance is somewhat rough.
If you contact us regarding this matter, we may be able to correct or improve it.
The side dots have been replaced with Luminlay ones, but the finish is not very accurate.
The paint on the neck seems to have been wiped over again, and the finish here is nice.
The nut replacement and fingerboard coating were previously done at GIB.
The bridge plate has additional holes drilled in addition to the original mounting holes. Additionally, one of the mounting screws has been replaced, and there are signs that the saddle and octave adjustment screws have also been replaced.
Although it has undergone a lot of work, the quality remains very high in terms of playability, and I especially recommend it to players.
The truss rod works well.
Although the condition of the neck shows a slight tendency to get high, which is common with Fenders, there is currently no problem with playability.
The condition of the body and painted surfaces is confirmed to be paint burns, scratches, and dents, but overall the condition is reasonable considering the year of manufacture.
The electrical system is in good condition.
All wiring materials have been replaced.
