Fender is the undisputed number one brand of electric guitars and basses.
Fender is loved by Jeff Beck, Keith Richards, Abe Futoshi, and countless other top artists. (titles omitted).
The TL71 is a highly regarded but defunct (integrated into the Fender brand) Fender Japan brand telecaster.
As the model name suggests, it is based on the 1971 Telecaster.
It is one with both 60's and 70's features such as modern logo on the head, Schaller-F key pegs, 4-point neck joint, etc. The body is made of Ash.
The body is made of Ash.
Fender Japan often uses Basswood, but it is nice to see that they use the same wood as the traditional Telecaster.
The neck is Maple and the fingerboard is Rosewood, a traditional combination.
The pickup is a TL Single Coil.
The sound is characterized by a good attack.
When the neck pickup is selected, it produces a fat and mellow tone, and when the bridge pickup is selected, it produces a sharp and powerful sound.
This is a gem of Fender Japan that is still popular today.
