The Jazz Bass was released as a higher-end version of the Precision Bass.
Its sharp, clear sound has been loved by many bassists, and even today it enjoys overwhelming support and a shining presence.
This model is an American Deluxe Jazz Bass V manufactured in 1999, which has recently become very popular.
This is an American Deluxe Jazz Bass V with some practical modifications.
The tuners have been replaced with Hipshot Ultralite.
Bridge replaced with a Hipshot B.
The strap pins have been replaced with Jim Dunlops.
Pickups replaced with other Fender brand pickups.
Classic specs with alder body and rose fretboard.
Modern body shape with access to the high frets, but with a great sense of balance.
Smooth highs and lumpy lows are very neat overall.
The sound is so refined that it can be used as-is on the line without an amp simulator.
The neck end is marked ‘APR 06 1999’ and ‘J. Velazco’.
J. Velazco was a master builder for Fender and now seems to be responsible for the production of Velazco Guitars.
The frets are approximately 70% remaining.
