Description & Condition
The brand is highly regarded by many professional artists, and Mitsuru Sudo and Larry Graham are known to be patronizers of the brand.
This model is a signature model of Mitsuru Sudo, one of the most talented bass players in Japan.
The body is made of alder and the fingerboard is made of ebony, a combination that is typical of Mr. Sudo and moon.
This beautiful black ebony is quite rare nowadays, and all guitar brands have a hard time securing it.
Pickups are original MJB575 and preamp is Bartolini XTCT.
Controls are 2 volume, 3 EQ, and Sudo's unique volume bypass switch.
He mixes the PUs when playing with slap and slightly turns down the neck PU volume when playing with fingers.
So the neck PU volume is always slightly turned down, and the switch bypasses the volume when slapping.
The bridge is a GOTOH 404BO-5, but the saddle is a brass type.
The sound is basically sharp and powerful NY sound style.
I've heard it many times on CDs. It is the best.
The remaining frets are about 80%.
The truss rod is a little stiff, but we have confirmed that it works about 90 degrees.
The neck is in good condition. There are a few small dents. The grips were originally painted matte, but have been played in and have a glossy finish.
The condition of the body and painted surfaces is generally scattered with dents and scratches. There is a 6mm ding near the strap pin on the cutaway where the wood is visible.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No clear modification points were found.
