Darkglass Electronics is a Finnish bass effects pedal and amplifier brand.
It has gained worldwide popularity in recent years and is trusted by many professional bassists working at the forefront of their field.
ELEMENT functions as a headphone amp, DI, and speaker simulator.
It features the popular cabinet simulator, and up to five cabinets can be stored in ELEMENT via the Darkglass Suite (an app for simulator adjustment).
This feature is not only for bass, but also for guitar, making it a powerful tool not only for practicing but also for recording.
Another key feature of this model is the ability to playback sound sources via Bluetooth connection.
There is also an AUX IN for physical connection, but it is possible to connect a keyboard here, so that way is assumed for sessions and practice.
Two headphone outs are provided.
For example, one can be connected directly to headphones, the other for recording or output to a mixer, and so on.
The XLR out indicates that it is also intended for use on stage or for recording.
So as a DI, you can send more of the sound you prefer to the PA.
You could also connect the speaker out of an amp head to the ELEMENT, and then send that signal to the PA and cabinet through the XLR out. (There are several options for this method. Speaker parallel out to ELEMENT in, etc.)
Generally, the DI is placed in front of the amp head, and the sound creation in the amp head does not reach the PA side.
However, this function makes it possible for the musician to be more actively involved in the creation of the external sound.
This is a new style of equipment that brings a different experience.
There are some minor scratches, dirt, and overall signs of use. Operation is good.
