Cortex is a guitar brand based in Switzerland and France.
They mainly manufacture basses, and their reputation has been heard frequently, especially in Europe.

He is a craftsman who focuses purely on creating beautiful and musical basses, and we have come to realize that the quality of his work is extremely high, and now GIB is importing Cortex Bass to Japan.
This is the Napoleon Deluxe 5 Fretless, a modern fretless bass.
It was the same model that I touched for the first time in 2024, and when I first touched it, I was mesmerized by its smooth playability, rich string vibration, quick response, and organic, beautiful sound.
This model, Napoleon, has a modern double-cut body, with a sufficiently long horn on the bass string side to bring balance to the whole.
It's a different concept from the Fender series, but I think it will feel familiar to those who have been playing Fender for a long time.
Regarding this individual, the body uses Curly Red wood.
Red wood is a highly strong wood that is useful for making furniture and other items.
The neck is Walnut and the fingerboard is Ebony.
The neck shape is relatively narrow, which I think has a positive effect on the sound.
It is characterized by its unusual 1:5 tuning machine layout.
This prevents the low B string from being at an extreme angle at the nut.
The PU uses Nordstrand Big Blades.
It feels very smooth to play, and the sound has plenty of bass, plenty of midrange, and highs with rich overtones.
In some ways it's like the best Fender JB and in some ways it's like the mighty Fodera.
If you try playing it, I'm sure you'll empathize with the emotion I felt.
The truss rod works well.
The neck is in good condition.
The condition of the body and painted surface is that there are traces of adhesive that appear to have been used to attach finger lamps.

No obvious modification points were found.
