Description & Condition

OOPEGG is a high-end guitar brand founded in Japan in 2019.
Since its founding, the brand has been active both domestically and internationally.

Due to extremely limited production, distribution is limited.

However, even among these guitars, they have been highly praised by many world-class professional musicians and continue to garner increasing attention.

In fact, they are used by a number of renowned musicians, including Bruno Mars, his bassist Jamareo Artis, and Shawn Stockman (Boyz II Men). (Titles omitted)

The Supreme Collection, known as "Neo-Bizarre," is a semi-custom series featuring original designs that break away from the established formats of brands like Fender and Gibson.

This model is the Stormbreaker Bass.
This particular model is an active modification with a built-in preamp.

The body is made of alder and the fingerboard is made of rosewood.

The neck is a 5-ply laminated maple and mahogany neck.
The technique of creating a neck by gluing together multiple pieces of wood minimizes differences between left and right guitars and individual differences, resulting in greater stability.

The scale is 31 inches.
The Fender Jazz Bass is 34 inches. The Gibson EB-3 and Fender Mustang Bass use scales around 30 inches.

Though the scale is relatively short, it still has a characteristic loose and loud low-end nuance similar to basses with shorter scales.

However, the playing feel does not feel difficult due to this.
Appreciable research was put into the head angle and bridge bend angle, resulting in a finish that will feel natural to players who normally play 34-inch basses.

The bridge is a custom design and manufactured in Greece.
Custom-made, with fine adjustments made to the woodwork to provide the player with the perfect tension.

The tuning machines are HIPSHOT Ultralite lollipop.
There's a reason for using lightweight pegs, as they achieve excellent weight balance even in this condition.

The frets are medium jumbo and the sides are equipped with Luminlay, giving the guitar a retro design, yet the use of modern technology is truly neo-bizarre.

The neck PU is a Guild BS-1 Bisonic, and the bridge PU is a Serek LZN-B90 Single Coil.
Mixing different brands is a rare technique among bass guitar brands, and it's perhaps unique to OOPEGG.

Still, the excellent balance in the mix is a testament to the designer's skill.

Controls include a master volume and master tone, as well as a 4-way rotary switch, treble, and bass. (You can switch to passive mode by pulling the volume section of the master volume/master tone stack knob.)

Switches are available for neck, neck + bridge, neck + bridge (passively filtered), and bridge.

The preamp is a Delano Sonar 2.

The neck is deep, and the bridge is crisp and powerful.
The mixed position provides a good balance, while the filtered position provides a well-controlled low-frequency nuance.

Depending on the studio or ensemble, the low frequencies may seem too pronounced, but this filter is useful in those situations.

The 2-band EQ also allows for more flexible sound-shaping.

For example, boosting the bass more and turning down the tone will give the Gibson EB-style sound a deeper, fatter impression, which will suit ensembles like reggae and hip-hop.

In the mixed position with the treble boost, you can achieve a more bass-like, practical sound while retaining the light nuances of a Fender Mustang Bass.

This is a solid design that goes beyond simply adding a preamp.

This is a unique masterpiece not often released by brands that continue to make basses purely for their own purposes.

We hope more people will experience it.

It will be delivered to you after being adjusted for ease of play by GIB's craftsmen.
