Bacchus is a Japanese brand based in Nagano.
As a brand under Diviser, which owns the large Asuka factory, Bacchus is highly regarded by many musicians for the exceptional quality that comes from the factory’s direct involvement in production.
This model is part of the WL series, which belongs to the top-of-the-line WOODLINE lineup.
Its most distinctive feature is the use of roasted maple for the neck and fingerboard.
This is also known as thermo-treated wood.
Thermo-treated wood, which was first put to practical use in the musical instrument industry by the Japanese company Sago, was originally used in Finland as construction material for saunas.
Thermo-treated wood is highly valued for its resistance to high temperatures and humidity, and its usefulness for musical instruments is evident from the fact that top-tier manufacturers such as Sadowsky and Suhr have adopted it.
It is said that a certain amount of thermo-treated wood is discarded during the manufacturing process.
