Sago is a handmade guitar brand based in Hyogo that specializes in fully custom-made guitars that fulfill all customer requests.

Their regular models (although most of them are one-offs), created using the knowledge and skills they have cultivated over many years, are also highly acclaimed.

Sago is also a brand trusted by musicians.

Sago artists include Tabuchi from UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, RIO from Mary's Blood, and Kusakari from Sakanaction.

This model is a JB replica custom-ordered from GIB.

The body is alder.
The elegant white color is very appealing.

One thing worth noting is the use of carbon fiber for the neck.
They say that this is balanced to avoid making it too stiff, and in fact, it gives the sound a strong organic nuance.

A neck that is too strong can give the sound a strong inorganic nuance, which can have a negative impact, but this model does not have that effect.

I specified HIPSHOT Ultralite tuning machines and a HIPSHOT Style B bridge.

I could have gone with GOTOH, but I went with HIPSHOT to incorporate a Western nuance into both the sound and looks.

I ordered EMG 40DC pickups and an EMG BTC preamp.
The controls are simple: volume, balance, and treble/bass.

The carbon neck and EMG electronics are reminiscent of a Modulus, but the actual tone is the opposite of what you'd expect: very organic.

The low end is clear yet full, with a packed mid-range and a silky, flowing high end.

The acoustic nuances you'd expect from EMG and the easy-playing feel of the not-too-stiff carbon neck match perfectly, resulting in a powerful yet light tone that's very appealing.

This guitar has the balance you'd expect from Sago, with its high design ability in both looks and sound.

I highly recommend it.
