RODENBERG is a German effects amp brand.
Its products are used by Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Lee Ritenour, Steve Vai, and others, and are highly acclaimed for their abilities.
RODENBERG specializes in amp-like drive pedals, but the COMMANDER is characterized by the distortion-like sound of its pedals.
A switch allows the user to switch between low and high gain.
You can control the depth of drive in a range not normally possible.
It has a TIGHT mode, which when turned on produces a straighter, tighter sound.
Along with the open sound off, it is nice to have a range of sound creation.
The distortion is not too fine-grained, and has a jangly texture.
It has that old metal feel. It's not the shear sound of today, but more of a jowly sound.
Recommended not only for guitar, but also for bass.
