Description & Condition
Momose is based in Matsumoto, Nagano and produces high quality basses and guitars.
They are renowned for their beautiful looks and excellent sound.
It is popular among professionals and is known as a favourite of top musicians such as Kazuki Isogai and Kyohei Ariga.
The MJ series is based on the traditional JB style and incorporates unique design details.
This is the so-called Show model, released in 2024.
The Premium Collection is Momose's pinnacle product, incorporating uncompromisingly selected woods and hardware with the highest level of technology.
The Buck Eye Burl, which is used by luxury brands such as Fodera and F-Bass, is used on the body top.
The body back is Ash in 1P without lamination.
This is a very luxurious specification, as it is really expensive these days.
The neck is made of beautiful quarter-sawn Maple and the fingerboard is made of rare one-tone Ebony.
The high quality of these may only be possible with the Show model.
In particular, Ebony is not available in really high quality these days.
The luxurious use of these extravagant woods is what makes the Show Model what it is.
The coating is Top Lacquer finish.
The colour of the paint changes dramatically as the top clear layer discolours.
The balance between using a strong paint such as urethane for the base and using lacquer for the top, which is related to the look, is really rational.
A Mojotone PU is used and a passive circuit is combined to utilise its advantages as it is.
The sound, which includes plenty of swinging bass and air-breathing treble, has a universal appeal in ensembles.
This is a must-try for the bassist who is not only a scene-stealer, but also for the bassist who wants to get his own special one.
