Lollar Pickups is an American pickup brand.
Its ability has been highly evaluated around the world, and it is often used by guitar brands that specialize in the price range of 500,000 yen to 1.2 million yen.
It is also supported by top artists such as Kevin Nolan, Steve Stout, and Katsumi Watanabe, which shows that it is highly regarded by both builders and players.
I met them at a guitar show in Germany.
I had known of his high quality for a long time, but his personality was also wonderful.
I asked him a lot of questions about pickups (although this is just a hobby), and he answered all of them accurately and carefully.
The answer was very logical and I was very satisfied with the high quality.
Founder Jason Lollar originally studied guitar making and is well versed in a variety of styles including archtop and electric guitars.
He has written extensively about pickups, and his books have influenced many guitar builders.
This model is a pickup for PJ bass.
The P-Bass Split-Coil on the neck is inspired by the 1950s style.
Basically, I aim for vintage-like characters.
It has a clear sense of attack that is essential for vintage sound, a rich midrange that blends into an ensemble, and a spacious and strong low end.
Average resistance value: 11.0k
Recommended pot resistance value: 250k
Recommended capacitor capacity: 0.047mF
And J-Bass High Wind is included as the bridge side.
This is also basically aimed at vintage-like characters.
Basically, I'm aiming for a vintage-like character, but it may feel brighter.
The richness from the midrange to the treble range is very distinctive, making it perfect for those looking for a clear sense of attack.
However, it has sufficient low range and maintains a natural JB-like quality that blends into the ensemble.
The height of the pole pieces is adjusted to match the radius of the fingerboard, and the spacing is designed to be optimal for each string.
By doing this, we aim to improve the volume balance of the strings.
If the pole piece is flat, the volume of only the strings at both ends may become louder, especially on a multi-string bass.
This is a big problem, and one that bass players are actually struggling with.
Essentially, the same thing applies to 4-string basses.
