Inner Bamboo Bass Instruments (IBBI) is one of the most talented effector brands in the world.
Their SUMO STOMP series is also very well received.

The quality of their products has earned the highest praise from both professionals and amateurs alike.
Musicians who use IBBI include Naoki Koyama of m.s.t., Yutaro Iizuka of EOW, and Takumi Katsuya, who supports Kaze Fujii, YAMA, Tomoo, and others.

This model is the B-II, a highly regarded top-quality bass preamp.

The gain setting is large enough to directly drive a power amplifier, allowing direct input to a PA power amp or a bass amp power amp.

Originally, preamplifiers were designed for direct input to power amplifiers, and this is the reason why preamplifiers of the past were so loud.

Although the meaning of a preamplifier has changed in modern times, this model is a preamplifier in the original sense.

As you can see, the only footswitches are MUTE and EQ PASS.
In other words, this pedal itself cannot be bypassed.

Controls are simple: 3-band EQ with variable center frequency bandwidth plus LEVEL and GAIN.
BASS and TREBLE can be varied from 4 levels, and MIDDLE is infinitely variable.
This variable range seems quite narrow, which I personally like. (Details will be described later.) The sound has a slight three-dimensionality.

The sound is clear, speedy, and true to the original sound, but it is a fact that there are few devices that can produce the sound as it is, and I think that is why this model is highly regarded.

The voltage is boosted internally, which is why you can feel the ample operation.

In particular, I was surprised at the staccato and strong sound when input directly to a power amp using this model.
You will realize that this is the true sound of this bass.

In addition to inputs, outputs, DC IN, and tuner out, a DC OUT is also provided.
This is used to feed power to other effectors. (For your convenience, I wrote "DC IN" and "DC OUT" in parallel, but it does not matter which one is used as IN or OUT. The voltage is the same as the input voltage.)

It seems that many people feed IBBI's masterpiece Compressor U II, and they are able to get their feet wet with only one adapter and two products from IBBI.
When you feel this quality, you will be convinced.
