Freedom is a Tokyo-based guitar workshop that has gained overwhelming support from professional musicians in Japan, and in recent years their name has begun to spread overseas as well.

Originally highly regarded for their repair work, they are now focusing on manufacturing, and their works are loved by many musicians for their high quality and rational sense of design.

All of the brand's basses are manufactured in Tokyo.
The wood used is carefully selected through strict quality control, and no wood that does not meet their standards is used in their products.

This quality control is only possible because we are a small workshop.
In this sense, the quality of our products is fundamentally different from those made in large factories.

This model is a PJ model specially ordered from GIB.

It is worth mentioning that it has the highest level of playability and the sound that musicians really want in a PJ.

The neck, carefully crafted with respect to Fender manner and using stainless steel frets, is truly of the highest quality.
It does not have a particularly unique shape, but that is why its basic quality stands out.

The sharp response and speedy, wide-range sound also contribute to this high playability.

The big problem with PJ bass may be the fact that the unique sound when mixed is now becoming tolerable for PJ lovers.
The strange, twisted phase nuance is sometimes a negative.

Not many brands have their own solution to that balance, but Freedom does.

For the PU, we adjusted the balance between the number of turns and the length of the wire by making one of the 3-string pole pieces a dummy.

For the J PU, it has been adjusted to be more high-shielded than usual to keep a neat balance in the mix.
This is very reasonable for a PJ style bass that cannot cancel noise in the mix.

The color is an austere burgundy, and I had it finished in lacquer.
The more you play it, the more the looks will change along with the sound.
Personally, I don't think there is a difference between lacquer and urethane, and I don't think either is better than the other, but I asked them to paint it with lacquer because I wanted it to be used for a long time while enjoying the changes.

There are not many brands that can make 5-string PJ basses with such high quality.
I think that is why so many working musicians love using them.

This is a gem that has the style of a PJ, but has value in accordance with the universal Fender manner.
We recommend it without any complaints.
