Description & Condition
D'mark Guitars is a Brazilian guitar brand that has been around since 1998.
The quality of their guitars is highly evaluated, and they are gaining support from musicians not only in South America but also in Europe and the United States, such as Andrew Gouche.
This solid guitar is a JbX8 from the Special Reserve Series, specially built for Japan on order from GIB.
The bass is made of a combination of high quality woods from Brazil, a country with abundant forest resources, and is finished in a beautiful way.
The body top is made of beautiful Mappa Burl.
As you can see, it is a super S grade.
Brazilian Mahogany is used for the body back.
Brazilian Hard Marfim is used for the neck.
This is an unfamiliar wood, but because of its high strength, it is used to make heavy-duty items such as floors and chairs.
So it is perfect for the neck.
The fingerboard is made of Hard Maple.
Pickups and preamp are original.
It has a 3-band EQ, and the controls are volume, balancer, treble, middle, bass, preamp bypass sw, and middle freq. switching sw.
Unlike Alpha and Omega, which use a through-neck construction, JbX has a bolt-on joint, which makes it somewhat more JB-like.
The layout of the PU near the bridge may be a concern, but it does not give a negative impression.
Rather, I feel that the tight and strong low register is brought out well without erasing the fullness of the sound.
There is a nuance that seamlessly connects from the low B string to the G string, allowing the player's musical sensibilities to be fully expressed.
Although South American instruments are high quality and unique, many of them are too unique, and many brands have been difficult to find in electric basses, which are mainly North American in style.
However, this brand, which has been gaining recognition in recent years, mixes North American styles, and the result is a more familiar feel.
