Darkglass is a bass effects pedal and amplifier brand from Finland.
It has gained worldwide popularity in recent years and is trusted by many professional bassists working at the forefront of their field.

This model is a highly successful overdrive/preamp.
It offers a deep, intense distortion sound with a flexible equalizer.

Low Mid and High Mid are each selectable from three options.
Together with the Grunt switch, which changes the nuance of the low frequencies, and the Attack switch, which changes the strength of the high frequencies, this allows for a wide variety of sound makeup.

Cabinet simulation, headphone out, and other features make this an omnidirectional device.

Specs and terminals

Master
Microtubes B7K Ultra V2 with Aux-In Adjusts the overall volume. Can also be used as a level control for the D.I. out.

Blend.
Blend controls the mix balance between the clean and overdrive signals. Regardless of the Level knob, which controls the volume of the overdrive signal, the clean signal is at unity gain, and the Blend knob is used to fine-tune the balance of the mix.

Level.
Sets the volume of the overdrive signal.

Drive.
Sets the amount of saturation of the overdrive signal.

Attack Switch
Sets the amount of high frequencies when saturated. The "Boost" setting emphasizes presence for a clearer sound. The "Flat" position has no effect on the tone. The "Cut" position reduces the amount of high frequencies, resulting in a warmer sound.

Grunt Switch
Selects the low-frequency boost level before the clipping stage from 3 modes and sets the intensity of the low-frequency range.

Bass
Boosts/cuts bass frequencies up to ±12dB with 100Hz as the center frequency.

Lo Mids
Boosts/cuts low frequencies up to ±12dB with 250Hz, 500Hz, or 1kHz as the center frequency.

Hi Mids
Boosts or cuts the frequency selected from 750Hz, 1.5kHz, and 3kHz up to ±12dB as the center frequency.

Treble
Boosts or cuts up to ±12dB with 5kHz as the center frequency.

Direct Output
Balanced XLR output, useful for connecting a mic preamp, PA system, etc.

Ground lift
Disconnects the direct output ground to prevent ground loops. The switch should be set to the lower noise position. This switch setting does not affect the 1/4″ phone output.

Cab Sim
Turns cabinet simulation on or off for the direct outputs. This switch allows you to output a signal that completely bypasses all digital circuitry if desired.

Headphones
A 3.5mm stereo jack headphone amplifier is built in, capable of driving a minimum load of 16 ohms. Level adjustment is made via the master volume control.

USB
Micro-USB B connector to connect to a PC / Mac to load a cabinet simulation impulse response (IR) into the pedal and control various settings.

Aux In
This 3.5mm stereo input can be used to connect a PC or smartphone, etc. Signal input to the Aux In will be output to the headphone out only. There is no volume control on the pedal itself for the signal input to the Aux In input, so the volume should be controlled by the device to which it is connected. Please be careful when using this pedal.
