Description & Condition
Collision Devices is a boutique effect brand handmade in France.
Founded around 2016, it is a young brand, but it has gained a lot of support, especially in Europe and the United States.
This pedal, the TARS DLX, is probably the only pedal equipped with two analog fuzzes and two analog filters.
There is a highly acclaimed pedal called TARS, and this model is an improved version of that.
The fuzz part is extracted from the Singularty part of the company's Black Hole Symmetry.
It is finished with a noisy texture through a filter inspired by the KORG MS20.
Let's start with the fuzz part.
The Gain is placed after the input using JFET transistors, and is followed by the amplification and clipping part using silicon transistors. The Master is the volume. This is as you would expect.
The added fuzz, called BLAST, feeds back part of the circuit, adding a heavier, more fiery texture.
And the filter part.
The main features are the LPF and HPF, and their respective RESONANCE controls.
The two filters are freely adjustable in frequency range, and can be increased or decreased by Resonance.
The 2p/4p switch changes the character of this section.
These filters are very powerful, more like a synthesizer than a guitar or bass EQ. The MS20 is a strong motif.
The switch marked S allows you to choose whether the filter is applied to one or both of the two fuzzes.
When S mode is on, press and hold the CRASH footswitch to turn on ADD FUZZ.
Press it briefly to turn on BLAST.
The filters can be controlled with the EXP pedal, opening up new possibilities that would not normally be possible.
You can choose whether to apply this filter to both with the mini switch on the top right.
The texture of the fuzz is not too choppy, but rather closer to distortion.
Because it is easy to use, the Cut Off control can be used to make big changes, which I think is fun.
This changes the tone greatly, allowing you to create sounds that are not possible with a normal fuzz pedal.
To be honest, it is difficult to explain this UIUX and sound in words, so I would like you to watch the official Youtube or try it out for yourself.
If you are interested in a modern, high-quality fuzz pedal that is different from others, this is a pedal you should try once.
Try the cutting edge of Europe.
GIB's craftsmen will deliver it after strict inspection.
