Description & Condition
Bacchus is a Japanese brand based in Nagano, Japan.
Bacchus is a brand under the umbrella of Divisor, which owns a large guitar factory called Asuka Factory, and is highly regarded by many musicians for the high quality of its guitars, which are handcrafted by the factory itself.
This model is a signature model of Korean bassist H. J. FREAKS.
This model is part of the Japan Tune-up series, a new series created with the aim of achieving high quality.
The Japan Tune-up series is manufactured overseas, and the nut adjustment, fret adjustment, and edge treatment are done in Japan.
This allows us to keep the price low, but the quality is high and on par with the top quality made in Japan in every aspect.
I actually saw the work being done at the Divisor's workshop in Nagano, and the careful finishing of each piece is no different from that of the top-of-the-line HANDMADE series.
The manufacturing itself is done in Indonesia.
It is no exaggeration to say that Indonesia is currently the most highly regarded guitar manufacturing country in the world, and in addition to Yahama, many other top guitar brands entrust their manufacturing there (which is why CORT and others have factories there).
The Bacchus brand is really good at controlling the quality of manufacturing in Asia.
Musicians living in Japan who can easily afford this brand are lucky.
Now, as for the basic design of this model, the main feature is that it has a wide range of sound with 24 frets, based on the JB motif.
It is based on the traditional body shape, but with a more modern arrangement while ensuring playability in the high position.
Roasted maple is used for the neck and fingerboard.
It is also called thermo wood.
Thermowood, which was commercialized in the field of musical instruments by Sago of Japan, was originally used in Finland as a building material for saunas.
It is also useful for musical instruments, as evidenced by the fact that leading manufacturers such as Sadowsky and Suhr use thermowood.
It is said that a certain amount of thermowood is disposed of due to its processing.
Probably, some of the instruments that are likely to be warped in the future will be played here.
The sound has an impression of a mellow nuance that is strongly oozing.
The body is Alder.
Equipped with original PU and preamp.
Controls are sufficient: volume/tone, balancer, treble, middle, bass, mute switch, and preamp bypass switch.
The fact that it is a top jack is also very important, and you can see the attention to detail of H. J. FREAKS, who is usually a serious musician in this area.
