Description & Condition
Bacchus is a Japanese brand based in Nagano.
It is a brand under the Divider umbrella, which owns a large guitar factory called Asuka Factory, and the high quality of its products, which are manufactured in-house, is highly regarded by many musicians.
The newly announced “WJB5-630-RSM/M Act” features a roasted maple neck and an active circuit, pursuing high specifications while achieving an affordable price of 75,000 yen.
While Bacchus basses are already known for their smooth playability, this model stands out for its responsiveness to playing.
What I consider a “good bass” is one where the vibration from picking the strings is softly transmitted throughout the instrument and output as sound through the amplifier. This model seems to embody that element to a great extent.
While roasted maple is said to provide a vintage-like feel, I won't comment on the truth of that claim, but this model does not have the negative stiffness or discomfort often associated with new instruments.
It was an incredibly wonderful experience.
This is a must-try for all bassists who have never tried roasted maple before.
The original pickups have a wide range and a well-balanced sound, making them highly versatile.
The 3-band equalizer is powerful and responsive, allowing for flexible sound shaping.
This model is a modern JB model based on the top-of-the-line Woodline model.
It's sure to sell out. I highly recommend it.
All shipments of this product will be set up according to GIB standards for 5-string JB models.
Additionally, the following GIB mod options are available for this product:
Jack replacement (Switchcraft): +3,000 yen
Since jacks are consumable parts, upgrading to a more durable option here is a worthwhile choice.
