Baboomin is a China-based brand launched by two bassists in 2023.
They develop lightweight, headless-style basses that retain the sound of vintage Fenders.

The original concept behind the brand was to revisit the weight and playability of their beloved '70s Fender Jazz Bass, making it easier to play for long periods of time.

In fact, all of their basses weigh less than 4kg, providing excellent body balance.

The preamps, pickups, bridges, etc. are all developed in-house.

This means they control and design almost every aspect.

I was amazed when I actually picked one up and played it for the first time.

It has a modern look and feel, yet a traditional sound.

Vintage basses and headless basses may seem like opposites, but they clearly convey the attractive aspects of both, merging them at a high level.

This model is the Q-River1 Std.

The body is alder, and the neck and fingerboard are rosewood, making it a very classic design.

The body shape will feel almost natural to those accustomed to playing Fender basses.

And yet the contours and cutaway are modern.

The use of stainless steel frets also gives a modern impression.

The neck shape is flat and thin.
By reducing the mass of the neck, they are probably aiming for a traditional sound.

It also gives an impression similar to Alleva-Coppolo and De Gier.

Both are highly acclaimed for producing Fender basses, so this approach is sure to be a success.

The Q-River1 comes in two models, Standard and Pro, but the difference between them is the pickups used.

The Standard has a simple single-coil pickup, while the Pro uses a humbucking type bridge pickup.

This is a more classic JB style than the Standard.

The preamp is the original 3-band.
The controls include neck pickup volume (push/pull - active/passive), bridge pickup volume, master tone, treble, middle, bass, bridge pickup coil selector, and middle frequency switch (400Hz/800Hz), allowing for a wide range of sound creation.

While it may seem complicated at first glance, from a bassist's perspective, it's well-organized and logical.

As mentioned above, the sound is traditional, reminiscent of a Jazz Bass.
It features a powerful low range, scooped midrange, and crisp highs.

While there are many improvements typical of modern basses, the excellent balance and design sense, which seem to retain the key elements of the sound, are truly impressive.

A Chinese brand that has been steadily gaining recognition in recent years.
This is an up-and-coming instrument that has the potential to set a new standard in bass style.

● Repurchase Price Guarantee

The warranty period is three months for used products and one year for new products.
