A.S.P. GEAR is a Japanese effects pedal brand.
The designer is a hardcore geek who creates beautiful products with universal appeal from a truly obsessive perspective.

The brand is renowned for manufacturing obsessive effects pedals that combine the functionality bassists demand with the cool sounds they dream of.

The brand is known for being used by artists such as Tezuka Tetsuya of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Kuroyanagi Yoshinari of SOPHIA.

This is the new AG-1 model.

The model is based on PEARCE's preamp.
While it's niche, it's strongly remembered for being used by Billy Sheehan, the bassist of MR. BIG.

The main unit features two channels, A and B, which can be used separately or mixed together.
Channel A offers a tube-like overdrive, while Channel B ranges from clean to crunchy sounds.

Both channels have controls for GAIN, BASS, MIDRANGE, MID FREQ, TREBLE, and VOLUME.
Even with extreme settings, the sound remains stable and easy to handle.

The sound is very old-school, rough, and thick.
As you increase the gain, the high frequencies shimmer and sparkle.

Mixing the A/B channels further highlights their unique character.

It’s not modern, but perhaps that’s why the sound that defined an era remains so appealing and captivating today.

This product is highly recommended not only for those seeking this specific tone but also for those who primarily play rock music or use PB-type pedals.
