Description & Condition

Fender is a brand founded by Leo Fender in California, USA in 1946.

In 1951, they released the Precision Bass, the world's first mass-produced electric bass guitar.

It's fair to say that Fender is the brand that created the current standard for electric basses.

This particular instrument is a vintage Precision Bass manufactured in the USA in the mid-1970s.

Based on the serial number on the neck plate and other specifications, it is estimated to have been manufactured between 1974 and 1976.

Its presence is captivating, a true USA vintage instrument that has aged for over half a century.

The combination of an alder body and a one-piece maple neck is typical of 1970s Precision Basses.

The contrast between the black body, white pickguard, and the natural color of the maple neck is striking.

The dents and paint patina that have developed over the years are also highlights of a vintage instrument.

The neck width at the nut is 42.0mm, wider than a Jazz Bass.

It offers the comfortable, secure grip characteristic of a Precision Bass.

The pickups are original gray bobbin split-coil pickups.

The controls are a simple passive configuration with volume and tone, but the pots and jack have been replaced (see the condition section below for details).

Its strengths lie in its thick, solid mid-low range and powerful sound that cuts through the mix.

This is a bass we highly recommend for anyone who wants the authentic look and sound of a 70s Precision Bass.

The frets have approximately 35% remaining.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck is in good condition.

There are some scratches and dents on the body and paintwork.

The electronics are in good condition.

The electronics have been upgraded with current CTS pots and a Switchcraft jack.

The capacitor appears original, but this cannot be confirmed.
The soldering work appears to have been done by a repairman.
