Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Providence is a Japanese brand.
Known for its high-quality cables and effects pedals, Providence also has a strong reputation for meticulous craftsmanship in its musical instruments, produced domestically in Japan.
This is the acB-100WM5.
It's a 5-string model in the OPB (Original Precision Bass) style.
OPB refers to the style of the early Precision Bass that appeared in 1951.
It features a simple, sharp body shape and a single-coil pickup positioned near the neck.
This model is based on that OPB style body, but with an additional pickup added near the bridge.
The two pickups can be blended using a balancer, creating a configuration similar to a JB.
It's a unique instrument that combines the classic look of an OPB with the wide range of sound shaping capabilities of a JB.
The body is made of ash, and the neck and fingerboard are made of one piece of maple.
The crispness of the ash combined with the bright attack of the maple fingerboard results in a clear, punchy sound.
The controls consist of a master volume, balancer, and master tone.
The master tone control allows you to switch between active and passive modes with a push/pull, providing a wide range of sounds with a single guitar.
This particular instrument has had a finger rest added and the pickguard replaced.
The original pickguard is also included, so you can restore the original look.
The nut width is 46.5mm, and the string spacing at the bridge is 19.0mm.
These are standard settings for a 5-string guitar.
This is a recommended Japanese-made 5-string guitar for those who like the look of the OPB and want a wide range of sounds.
Please give it a try.
The frets have approximately 80% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paint surface show some minor dents and scratches.
The electronics are in good condition.
A finger rest has been added. The pickguard has been replaced.
