Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Kikuchi Guitars is a Japanese handmade guitar brand.
Known for its instrument-making that pursues the ideal tone envisioned by skilled craftsmen, it is distributed domestically by Okada International.
The Hermes series is the brand's JB-style bass guitar.
The body features a Dinky shape redesigned to suit the Japanese physique, prioritizing comfort and playability.
This is the 5-string model, the Hermes MV5.
The body is made of ash, and the neck and fretboard are maple.
It boasts a bright, clear sound, combining the light and crisp tone of ash with the attack unique to a maple fretboard.
The color is TBK (Trans Black).
The ash wood grain is subtly visible, giving it a refined look.
The neck has a Thin Matte Nitro finish, providing a smooth feel.
The neck joint is designed deeper towards the bridge, making it easier to play in the higher positions.
This guitar features two DiMarzio J-type pickups with hum-canceling capabilities.
Its appeal lies in its ability to maintain the sharpness characteristic of single-coil pickups while suppressing noise.
The preamp is an original design by Kikuchi Guitars.
In addition to treble/bass boost, the master tone control functions as a passive roll-off tone control, and it can be switched between active and passive modes via a push-pull.
A key feature is the design that minimizes volume and tone differences when switching.
The string spacing at the bridge is 19.0mm.
This is a guitar that combines the meticulous craftsmanship typical of Japanese handmade instruments with the sound of a modern 5-string JB.
Please give it a try.
The frets have approximately 90% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
